Davis Cup Quarterfinal Preview

The Davis Cup is all set to catch the attention of bettors this week at LinesMaker sportsbook. The cup is entering the World Group Quarterfinals stage, with eight nations – Spain, France, Argentina, Russia, Chile, Czech Republic, Croatia and Serbia- battling for a spot in the semi-finals.

In their quarterfinal tie, defending champions Spain plays France, without Rafael Nadal who due to a knee injury has opted out of the tourney. Nevertheless, Spain still continues to be among the hot favorites in the competition, having odds of +250 to defend the title. Spain boasts the enviable talents like Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer, Feliciano Lopez and Nicolas Almagro.

France is showing significantly low efforts this week. They are still the thir favorite to win the title, tipped at +500, trailing behind Spain and Serbia. France’s bench is represented by Monfils, Michael Llodra, Julien Benneteau and Gilles Simon; minus Tsonga who begged off national duty. They will have a hard time battling Spain even though they have the home edge in this tie. Spain has 3-0 chances of sweeping the tie against France.

Elsewhere, Russia plays Argentina in their second quarterfinal tie. Russia has Nikolay Davydenko, Mikhail Youzhny, Igor Kunitsyn and Teimuraz Gabashvilli to their rescue. Listed at +550 to successfully defend their title, playing on home soil is likely to work in their favor.

Argentina is playing without their best 2009 US Open champion, Juan Martin Del Potro; giving Russia another advantage. Nalbandian, Mayer, Schwank and Zeballos, are tasked with the job of taking out Russia. Argentina is at +600 to win the title at LinesMaker. Russia has 4-1 chances of taking out Argentina in the quarterfinals.
