It was their final home game and one to remember as Syracuse won the Big East Conference tournament for the second time. They were 13.5 favorites to win at LinesMaker and beat the Red Storm 85- 66 on Tuesday night.
It was fifth year seniors Arinze Onuaku and Andy Rautins who combined a total 35 points to clinch the victory. Onuaku scored a season-high of 21 points helping Syracuse to move up to 15-2 in the Big East and 28-2 overall. Ruatins added another 14 points.
Syracuse’s season has been amazing. They have won nine of their last 11conference home games and 42 of their last 45 games against unranked teams. Tuesday’s game against St. John’s saw them shoot 51.7 percent from the floor and 70.4 percent from the foul line. They definitely proved they are the nation’s No. 1 team. St John’s had no chance as they blocked shots, forced a lot of turnovers, forced them to take tough shots and got out in transition. Their last Big East title was won in the 1990-91.
LinesMaker.com currently has the betting odds at 7-2 for Syracuse to win the NCAA Championship.

Orlando Magic, two point favorites at LinesMaker, beat Cleveland 101 – 95 on Sunday. This was the third straight loss for the Cavs, after a 13 game winning streak.
Sunday’s game was a battle of the Supermen on court. Shaquille O’Neal has been known as Superman throughout most of his 17 year NBA career and Dwight Howard has also earned that nickname much to O’Neal’s chagrin., he has even been heard calling Howard an “impostor”. The game on Saturday definitely saw a visible battle of the NBA superheroes. Howard had 22 points and 16 rebounds for Orlando and O’Neal finished with 20 points.
Could history repeat itself this year? LinesMaker has the Cavaliers at betting odds of -275 s to win the Eastern Conference but Orlando eliminated them in the finals last year. The Magic is in great form; they have won nine their last eleven home games and the Cavs may be on a losing streak but they still are leading Orlando in the standings.

Indy Car star Danica Patrick will compete in at least 12 NASCAR races this season. JR Motorsports announced her schedule but she could be making her debut in the Nationwide Series opener at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 13.
The JR Motorsports team decision will be made after Patrick makes her stock car debut in the Feb. 6 ARCA race at Daytona. If all goes well for her, she could race the following week in NASCAR’s second-tier series. It will be a tough start for Patrick as over a dozen Sprint Cup regulars, including team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr., take part in this race. Eranhardt has betting odds at LinesMaker of +3000 to win the Sprint Cup If she doesn’t make it, her debut will be the following week in Daytona.
For now her schedule is: Las Vegas (Feb. 20) and then a four-month gap to focus on the IndyCar Series. She will be returning to NASCAR at New Hampshire (June 26) and then onto Chicago (July 9), Michigan (Aug. 14), Dover, Del. (Sept. 25), Fontana (Oct. 9), Charlotte (Oct. 15), Madison, Ill. (Oct. 23), Texas (Nov. 6), Phoenix (Nov. 13), and Homestead, Fla. (Nov. 20).

The Indianapolis Colts won the AFC Championship yesterday defeating the New York Jets 30-17. Four times MVP Peyton Manning passed for 377 yards and three touchdowns against the Jets rallying the Colts from an 11-point deficit to victory.
This will be the second time in four years and their fourth Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. The Colts vs. Jets betting odds at LinesMaker had the Colts favored by 8.0 points and most bookmakers expected a fairly low-scoring game. It was a rough game for the Jets, who even with their 17 -13 lead after the first half, could not contain Manning in the second where he just carved them up.
Indianapolis is listed as a 5.5 favorite at LinesMaker to win the Super Bowl Championship game in Miami. The perfect scenario plays out for the Colts as they head to Super Bowl with Manning. “We’re glad to have an opportunity to be going back,” Manning said. “We know we’re going to be playing a great team. I’m really glad we have two weeks to get ready.

As one commentator noted, mind numbingly boring may be the best way to describe the New York Jets victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Wild Card playoff game last weekend. The Jets outscored the Bengals by 10 points with a 24 – 14 victory. The Bengals continued their slide from the end of the regular season having lost 3 of their last 4 games after they clinched playoff position. The Jets were 2.5 point underdogs heading into the game. Despite their poor regular season finish, over 60% of the betting action at LinesMaker was on the Bengals to cover.
The Jets now head into the next round of the playoffs next weekend as they try and win the Divisional Title. They are the fifth seed and will be traveling to San Diego to take on the Chargers. The Jets are arguably playing their best football of the season at just the right time, but will have a lot of work to do to get past the Chargers and cinch the title. LinesMaker Sportsbook has betting odds of 7 to 1 for the Jets to win the AFC and 14 to 1 to win Super Bowl next month.
