With help from LeBron James’ fourth quarter heroics, the Cavaliers clinched the NBA’s Central Division title on Wednesday night.
LeBron James has beaten Magic Johnson’s record becoming the third player to have 49 games or more with 30 plus points, eight-plus rebounds and eight plus assists. He had 32 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Cavaliers on Wednesday. LeBron is 1/10 favorite for regular season MVP. The 99 – 94 victory against the Indiana Pacers was the second straight outright NBA Division win for Cleveland (54-15). They are the first team to claim a division title this season.
The Pacers have not had a good week faltering in the last few minutes against both Cleveland and Milwaukee. They have lost 13 of their last 17 games, including nine straight on the road.
The game was close with four minutes, seven seconds left when the Pacers had closed to within one (88-87). James showed his true power and athletic skills to put it away for the Cavaliers. They and the Lakers have odds of 7/5 to win the NBA Championship at LInesMaker and 1/3 to win the Eastern Conference.

The Texas Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners 8-1 on Wednesday night. Earlier the same day it was revealed Texas manager Ron Washington tested positive for cocaine, amazingly this news seemed to have a positive affect on the team’s game.
Washington admitted how “stupid and shameful” his actions were luckily his team did not follow suit. The Rangers scored eight times in the early innings; Neslon Cruz hit two home runs Josh Hamilton and Chris Davis added solo homers for the Rangers and righty Scott Feldman gave them four stellar innings.
Seattle pitcher Cliff Lee made his highly anticipated debut only to be suspended for the first five games of the regular season for throwing over the head of a hitter. Ian Snell felt the impact of the Mariners slugging allowing six hits and three runs in four innings, striking out five but allowing four home runs including Cruz and Hamilton. He feels he is still learning and wants to improve on his bullpen and side work.
The World Series is still a long way off but after this week’s events we’ll see how the Rangers fair and how the Mariners improve. Both teams have odds at LinesMaker of 25/1 to win the World Series.

The Dallas Stars were shining when they beat Washington on Monday. Unfortunately, they could not repeat their great shoot-out performance when they met the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
Buffalo’s rookie Tyler Myers scored 55 seconds into the game and had three assists, but it was Thomas Vanek’s goal in the second period that sealed the Sabres a 5-3 victory over the Stars (29-25-12). The teams were tied at three after the first 20 minutes but Buffalo dominated the final two periods as the Stars could only manage to get six shots on Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller, who finished with 17 saves. This was the Sabres third straight win.
Coming out of the Olympic break the Stars have lost four of five important games and now the Western Conference play-off slot seems to be slipping away. Dallas has odds of 40 to 1 to win the conference at LinesMaker and now remain 5 points behind eight-place Calgary with odds of 30 to 1 and have no games in hand.
